David Jason Stinson, head football coach at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville, KY, plead ‘not guilty’ today to the reckless homicide of his 15 year old football player. Max Gilpin died 3 days after collapsing at practice on August 20th in which bystanders said the players did not receive any water breaks and emergency help was not called for more than 20 minutes. There was also speculation that the player Gilpin was taking the supplement Creatine which is known to throw off electrolyte balances and heat intolerance.

I’m kinda in the middle on this one. On one hand he definitely should be charged if he refused the player water and the other coaches should be held accountable if they did not call 911 for 20+ minutes. On the other hand, if you are hot and feel as if you’re dying of thirst, Jesus shouldn’t have kept you away from a bucket of water. When I was in elementary school I came home one day and told my mom about how a teacher of mines wouldn’t let me go to the bathroom because she thought I didn’t really need to go. She told me that next time if I had to do something that I really felt like I had to do like use the bathroom or get some air, anything like that than I did not have to wait until I had permission to do so. A few years later in Junior High School, I had a science teacher who wouldn’t let me use the bathroom and when I walked straight out the classroom he told me I couldn’t come back in. My momma went off on him during the parent/teacher conference and asked him ‘How DARE he refuse the right of a little girl to use the bathroom?’
 
So with that being said, I understand that little high schools in rural towns like this one in Kentucky are breeding grounds for college football stars and the NFL but people need to understand that some children are pushing themselves to death by allowing their coaches to get the final say over issues such as getting a drink of water and seeking medical attention. And why are coaches given this much authority over the players and their actions anyways? Do football players pass out a lot and that’s the reason why the coaches and the other football players didn’t get on the phone and call for help? I just don’t get it…
 
This is another case I’ll be adding to my stories to watch over the next few months. I honestly don’t see an acquittal coming on this one simply because there are so many people here to ‘blame’ for what happened in my opinion but the family has one hell of a civil case.

A 22 year old Wal-Mart employee in Mississippi acted like she was ringing her friend up for seven pairs of jeans, a baby crib, a pair of scrubs, a picture frame, sweat suit, laundry detergent, a bra, four pairs of pants, diapers, pizza, coffee, four 12-packs of drinks, canned goods, air freshener, nachos, noodles, frozen goods, chips and a family pack of beef but actually only rang her up for $5.25 worth of shit. The total cost of this transaction should have been close to $550 so you know her ass was promptly arrested.

First of all, fuck Walmart. They move into a town, shut all the local businesses down by making everything a person could want accessible and seemingly cheap. Then they rip off their workers by giving them horrible/expensive benefits and low-pay. Of course I’m almost always rooting for the underdog so I kinda wished this chick woulda got away with it. BUT she’s a fuckin idiot. Anyone who has worked in retail before knows that you should at least ring them up for half the shit! How the fuck is someone gonna walk up to a register with all that shit and only hand over a damn $10 bill AND get some change on top of that? Maybe down in certain areas of Mississippi they still don’t understand the concept of surveillance cameras and that 8 times outta 10 Prevention Loss teams are watching the damn employee’s not the fuckin customers. On top of all that, when you go to Walmart and you have something in your cart that is too big for a bag, you have to present a reciept for it to leave. Do these people know anything???

Murderer!

So I’ve been super busy preparing for and attending Obama’s Inauguration in Washington, DC but I’m back in business. I’m very happy to read up on whats going on with the BART shooting case. The murderer Johannes Mehserle, was arrested and charged for the murder of Oscar Grant. He’s hired prominent lawyer, Michael Rains, who has a history of defended cops in cases of misconduct.

Its also being reported that Mehserle’s family is recieving bomb threats. Boo-muthafuckin-Hoo. When you’re married to a racist murderer who took a father, son and friend from people, you have to deal with loved ones wanting to retaliate. Nothing is going to happen to them, people are just venting their anger, playing on their phone and shit, so they can stop their fuckin crying.

I am definitely going to keep my eye on this case over the next few months. Chances are the defense will pick a good jury, he’ll get off, become an alcoholic (if he already isn’t one) and he’ll disappear just like Rodney Kings attackers did. As much as I would like to see this asshole rot in jail, I know the justice system well enough to know that WHITE cops are never held responsible for shit. I’ll try and be positive about it though.

Just as I hoped they would, people of the Bay Area in California took to the streets in protest.  Of course the protest turned violent and caused the damage to cars and supposedly 300 businesses (even though I haven’t seen footage of this). Now of course people may ask, why did the protest have to become violent? Well one, look at the circumstances surrounding the events. An innocent and helpless black man was shot in the fuckin BACK while laying on the ground restrained. Should that not envoke anger in people who are supposed to trust those who are to protect them and not ‘lynch’ them? Secondly,who is sent to control the protestors? Police are and if the protest is AGAINST police than they are just waiting for the one word or gesture to jack up a protestors.

Here we are less than two weeks from swearing in the first Black president and his brother, sister, uncle or cousin can still be senselessly ’lynched’ by a white man with no consequences. Quiet frankly, I hope the protest and rioting gets worse until the officer who shot Oscar Grant is arrested. Its been 7 days and counting……

Well since its no longer acceptable to run around with sheets on your head and lynch unsuspecting black men than I guess you can just go be a cop where its ‘ok’ or an ‘accident’ if you kill a black man. The BART cops were responding to a supposed fight on a train in the very early hours of New Years day when they pulled the victim, Oscar Grant, along with his friends off the train. Oscar was unarmed and NOT resisting arrest while being handcuffed but the police still felt the need to place a knee in his head and shoot him in the fuckin back. Its said that the BART police officer meant to pull out his taser gun  and accidentally grabbed his gun and pulled the trigger. I’m sorry, I know I may have been called an idiot once today but since when can a GUN be confused for a fuckin taser? Oh that’s right, they do make them out of metal with barrels and a trigger now a days! 

I bet all my money that this will be determined an ‘accident’ after a detailed investigation, after all its already been 6 days, and now that the officer up and quit he’s really in the clear now. I hope the folks in the Bay Area burn that WHOLE f-ckin town down just like they did when everyone who beat Rodney King was let off. Police brutality is modern day lynching, used to keep the niggers in line and incidents such as this show that white men can still be untouchable when it comes to violence against blacks, all they need is a damn badge. I’m disgusted and now remember after living through the LA Riots why I have such a disdain for police officers.

How does a 4 year old get a SHOTGUN, point it and shoot without getting kicked in the damn chest?! According to witnesses the baby sitter, an 18 year old boy, stepped on the little boy’s foot and this was enough to piss him off and have him go lookin for his daddy’s shotgun. The sitter was shot in the arm and side and supposedly there was another teenager injured.  There was also other children in the trailer but thank goodness these were the only two individuals hurt.

I just can’t begin to wrap my mind around this. For one, the 4 year old knows how to use a damn shotgun. Secondly, he feels that getting his foot stepped on was reason enough to retaliate with a gun. Third, he didn’t get tackled to the ground and his ass whooped before he was able to drag the gun out of a closet, aim and shoot it. My guess is the ’sitter’ wasn’t watching the little asshole to begin with and probably thought it was funny when the little boy went for the shotgun and didn’t think he really knew how to use it.  If that was the case than I guess you can say his dumb ass got off easy and won’t under estimate these crazy ass lil kids anymore.

Then they end the article saying the child had not been charged. DUH!!! They aren’t gonna charge a 4 year old with shit! If anything his parents might go to jail for having guns at his disposal but other than that, nothing is gonna happen to him. And to believe I thought nothing topped that boy who slapped his fuckin momma on the DR Phil Show. I should start a mobile-ass whoopin service…..

A 22 yr old black man in New Orleans, LA apparently thought that either a dead child or baby momma would be better than paying $4,000 in back child support……

I have sooooo many things to say about this story.

First off, this should serve as warning sign to women out here having unprotected sex with men who they KNOW can barely take care of themselves. As bad as the  economy is now a days, it can’t be THAT hard to determine if a man is  responsible and I know for a fact that a man will tell you straight up the minute he finds out that you are pregnant if he’ll be bothered with  you or not. So that’s the first thing I thought of when I read this, women pay the attention so you not singing the baby momma blues this time next year.   

Secondly, is it THAT bad in these streets that klling either your child or baby momma to avoid child support payments is the only thing you can come up with? Can’t you just leave the state? Or why don’t you just work  under the table like MY father did for 15+ years and let it be what it  may! That’s why I think there has to be more to this story and it  reminds me of that teenage girl in IL who killed her newborn baby because she was tired of watchin him and wanted to ‘go to a party’ but nooooooo one even mentioned that she could have possibly been suffering from post partum depression but had she been white she woulda been the new Susan Smith or Andrea Yates.  According to the man’s baby momma (who is referred to as his wife even though they don’t have the same last name) he has never suffered from any mental illness or emotional problems and they never had any major arguments. I just can’t believe this to be true. ‘Normal’ people with NO mental or emotional problems don’t kill their children so he had to be off his rocker to begin with or he snapped. So I’ll definitely be keeping up with this story because the man is quoted as saying that he had a ‘bunch of reasons’ for killing his son so hopefully the truth, as horrible as it may be, will come out.

I am in no way defending this man or dead beat black men out there but its fuckin hard out here! There are already high suicide rates among black males and mental illness is swept under the rug in black communities so shit like this needs to open people’s eyes to whats going on with our black men as opposed to demonizing them every opportunity they get! People may think I’m crazy but I think the whole child support system is a fuckin joke and there should be  laws to where if a man is willing to sign over all parental rights for a child and agree to have no contact with them than they should not have  to pay child support. Now I know that sounds radical and of course there would be exceptions and exclusions to this rule but what ELSE is going  to stop WOMEN from having children with men who are irresponsible and  sorry?! How many pregnant girls and women out there think that everything is going to be ok because once the baby is here they can just  put the baby daddy on child support? Too many! I think families would stand up and make boy, girls, men and women more responsible if it were that easy to walk away from a child.  Somebody is gonna have to stand up and start taking responsiblity and based on this article its going have to be the women.

I Don’t Need It – Waaaack. Sounds like a song Justin Timberlake didn’t want. He’s basically saying he doesn’t need love this chick has for sale.

Number One – He’s the number one man so come roll with him and be happy because you can be replaced, biotch! Cool song, kinda busy with alot of break downs and stuff but would be a nice lil club song.

Digital Girl – Kanye’s verses are hot! They’re talkin bout talkin and seeing this chick on the computer and she’s hot but they can’t get to her so they’ll have to settle for pics. I likey….

Blame It – Blame it on the alcohol, LoL. Hot club song about a chick acting up but she can just blame it on the alcohol when its all over. Kinda tired of TPain but he actually adds something to the song.

She Got Her Own – I hate this song! Period.

I Don’t Know – He keeps getting passed up by this hot chick he sees here and there. Has a Maxwell meets Raheem Davaughn feel, really nice.

Weekend Lover – He got some chick he breaks off on the weekends and takes care of her after a long and stressful week. Hot song.

Why – This song has a nice lil flow to it but the lyrics, his voice and the arrangement is WACK. He’s asking his chick why she is leaving him. Says shit like ‘Don’t break this glass heart….’ WTF? This sounds like something you woulda heard in the 90s. Then they had the nerve to add some beat boxing in the end. Horrible….

Freakin Me – Ole girl from Floetry is a freaky lil b!tch, she always on some nasty song! Nice lil song about getting your freak on of course. Part 2 to Floetry’s ‘Say Yes’.

Slow - I wish there wasn’t a voice saying ‘Uh, uh, uh…’ in the backround throughout the WHOLE damn song. Another lil freaky song about goin slow. Can’t listen to the whole thing cuz the ‘uh, uh, uh….’ part is working my nerves.

Rainman – It rains whenever she isn’t around…..Sounds like a very OLD Tank song, like something that woulda been on his demo. His version of ‘Aint No Sunshine’ when she’s gone…..

Overdose – He overdosed on some chick love and he likes it. Kinda wack, plays too much into the act of overdosing and being rushed to the hospital and shit. Its a cool analogy and everything it just went into overkill.

Love Brings Change – Pretty self explanatory. Nice lil ballad if you like that kinda shit.

I can’t really call it for this CD. I mean its not entirely hot but it isn’t garbage either, its just in the middle for me. It has a buncha ballads and I just don’t feel like Jamie’s voice is good enough for all that. The few hot songs like ‘Just Like Me’, ‘Digital Girl’, ‘Blame It’ and ‘Freakin Me’ save this album in my opinion because the love songs just don’t sound right. Something sounds off in all of them. The worst songs on the album have to be ‘Why’ simply because of the chorus which consists of at least 10 why’s. R&B songs have to keep your attention and have you singing along with it and no one is gonna be sitting in their car singing ‘why’ over and over. The best song on this album is hands down ‘Blame It’ because it manages to take almost everything overused in R&B right now (T-Pain, the auto tuner and songs about taking some bitch home from the club) and made it feel like you were instantly in the middle of a dance floor at a hot ass club having a good tipsy time. So with that being said, should Jaime Foxx stick to acting? Not really because he obviously has talent but this album just didn’t do it for me.
